14, Hart Street lies within the famous New Town of Edinburgh - a world Heritage Site - and is part of a small and charming Georgian development which was designed and laid out by Hugh Cairncross in the early years of the Nineteenth Century. Cairncross was a pupil and associate of Robert Adam - the doyen of Georgian architects - and Adam's principles of harmony and understated elegance are visible in Hart Street and in the surrounding houses. Cairncross' development continues to be a beguiling "hidden quarter", and makes an ideal base for exploring the city as a whole.

James and Angela are perfect hosts, and are a splendid source of local knowledge, useful suggestions and weather lore! They offer an obliging and unobtrusive presence, and take delight in getting to know their guests. Many former guests are quick to agree that the Wilsons of Hart Street have a talent for generating an experience that is truly unforgettable!
